  • Dr Jaan Ackland

    Jaan has been practicing for close to 20 years. He has spent the majority of that time working in small animal practice in Melbourne, Sydney and England and has worked the past eight years at Rye Vet Clinic.

    In August 2010 Jaan became the proprietor of Rye Vet Clinic and he is enjoying the opportunity of running his own vet clinic.

    His interests include surgery including some orthopaedics and general veterinary care of pets. He feels the human animal bond is an important one.

    Jaan enjoys reading, running, movies, bush walking and spending time with his three boys.

  • Dr Heather Kingston

    Heather has been providing veterinary care for pets for over 30 years and has been part of the Rye community for over 25 years. Her interests are in animal behaviour, reproduction and geriatric care.

    In her spare time Heather enjoys tennis, going to the gym and working in her vegie garden.

    Her pets are Tap a Bernese Mountain dog and Dinah a very geriatric cat. Pebbles the three legged Burmese who used to reside at the clinic is now enjoying her retirement in the Kingston household.

  • Dr Rachael Ackland
    BVSc. MACVSc. Dip Vet Clin Stud.

    Rachael graduated as a vet in 1996 from Melbourne University. She has completed an internship in medicine at the University of Sydney as well as a distance education course in Small Animal Medicine. In 2000 Rachael became a member of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists which is gained through sitting extra examinations. During her career she has spent time in small animal practice in Melbourne, Sydney and England and has spent some years working in Melbourne’s animal emergence centres.

    Her interests include medical cases such as diabetes and emergency cases.

    Rachael is kept busy with three very active young boys and enjoys walking and pilates.Rachael is working part time at Rye Vet Clinic .

  • Dr John Kingston

    John’s interests at the clinic include diagnostic imaging – x-rays and ultrasound and anaesthesia. In 2006 John completed an ultrasound course through University of Sydney’s post graduate foundation. John is Pennhip certified. This means that John has been trained to take specific radiographs (x-rays) of the hips in order for hips to be scored by a specialist radiographer. This is commonly done in dogs intended for breeding.

    Outside of work interests include tennis, fishing and scuba diving.
